Salary Packaging Transition from RemServ to Eziway
As we transition our salary packaging services provider from RemServ to our new provider Eziway, we understand you may have some questions. Below are some brief answers to the most common questions we think you may have:
Why are we changing from RemServ to Eziway?
Eziway will provide improved customer service, technology (including a user-friendly app), and lower administration fees – which means you will get more benefit from your salary packaging than you did with RemServ.
When will RemServ stop managing my account, and when will Eziway start?
RemServ will cease packaging your salary on 29 August 2025. Eziway will take over from the next pay cycle after that date.
Will there be a break in my salary packaging benefits during the transition?
We are working closely with RemServ and Eziway to ensure a smooth transition. If you submit your Eziway paperwork on time, there should be no gap in your benefits.
How do I sign up with Eziway?
You will receive an onboarding email with information on how to set up your Eziway account. If you haven’t received this email, please contact HR.
What’s the deadline to sign up with Eziway to avoid delays?
To avoid a break in service, submit your completed Eziway application by Friday 29 August 2025.
Do I have to reapply for salary packaging with Eziway?
Yes. Salary packaging can’t be transferred between providers automatically. You need to contact Eziway to continue packaging your benefits.
Will my packaging limits or eligible items change under Eziway?
No – the ATO rules and your eligibility as a not-for-profit employee remain the same. What you can package (e.g., everyday expenses, meal/entertainment) will not change.
Do I need to tell payroll about this change?
No – payroll is already coordinating with both providers to ensure deductions are updated. You only need to complete your Eziway application.
What happens to any funds I still have in my RemServ account?
Any remaining balance in your RemServ account will be used to finalise any pending claims until 29 August, then either transferred to Eziway (if you created your new account) or to Safe Places Payroll for regular taxation (if you didn’t create an Eziway account). You’ll receive communication from RemServ about this.
I have a novated lease through RemServ, what do I need to do?
You will receive an email with full instructions to transfer the management to Eziway. You will need to contact Eziway about your current lease by completing an Eziway Novated Lease Transition Form. They will then guide you with the steps you need to follow.
If I have a Salary Packaging or Meal Entertainment Benefit card, what do I need to know?
Eziway provides Salary Packaging and Meal Entertainment cards. To close your Remserv cards, you can contact them directly or your contributions to your card will be automatically stopped on 29 August with any remaining balance automatically returned 7 days later to Safe Places’ payroll to be taxed at normal pay rates.
I still have a balance in my Remserv account, what will happen to that?
If you have created an Eziway account, your balance will be sent to Eziway for salary packaging with them. If not, it will be returned to Safe Places payroll to be taxed as regular income.
How do I set up a new salary packaging account with Eziway?
You can set up a new account a few ways:
- Eziway app: Available on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
-
Request form: Complete the Salary Packaging Request form attached and send to admin@eziway.net.au with supporting documents.
- Phone call: Call Eziway at 03 8768 5777, advising that you are a transitioning Safe Places employee- they will guide you from here.
What information will I need to set up my new salary packaging with Eziway?
You will need your Payroll ID number and Gross Salary which can be found on your payslip. You will also need to provide supporting evidence for your general expenses to claim full salary packaging benefits. See the Eziway form: What is Substantiation?
What support is available to help me switch to Eziway?
Eziway will offer onboarding support including:
- Step-by-step guides.
- Onsite or virtual info sessions.
- Helpdesk assistance.
- One-on-one phone or video sessions.
What evidence will I be required to provide?
As before, you will need to provide evidence (e.g. grocery receipts) to support any claims you make. For recurring payments (e.g. rent,
mortgage, personal loan, etc.) you will still need to provide substantiating documents. This could be a mortgage statement, rental agreement, personal loan statement, etc. See the Eziway form: What is Substantiation?
What expenses can I salary package?
You can salary package general living expenses, such as groceries, clothing, mortgage, rent, personal loans, credit card repayments, and more. You can also package meals and entertainment, accommodation and venue hire, as well as a novated leasing for a car and car parking costs.
Is Eziway secure and trustworthy?
Yes – Eziway is an established provider working with many not-for-profits across Australia. They are fully compliant with ATO and privacy requirements.
What if I don’t want to change providers or package anymore?
That’s completely up to you. You are not obligated to sign up with Eziway. If you choose not to continue packaging, your deductions will stop after the final RemServ date on 29 August 2025.
